Flexible learning—online, in person, live or on demand

A typical week

For students enrolled on the Certificate or Diploma programme, learning takes place in two stages. During the week, students watch the teaching through live or on-demand lectures at a time that suits them. Then, each Monday evening, they come together for The Classroom—a live interactive session where they discuss the teaching, ask questions, pray together and explore how to put what they have learned into practice.

Each week includes approximately 5 hours of core learning time, before any additional assignment work:

  • 4 hours of live or on-demand teaching

  • 1 hour in the weekly live Classroom

The Classroom

Every Monday evening (19:00-20:00), students come together for The Classroom, a live, interactive session where they grow through worship, teaching, discussion, prayer and practical application.

Students from around the world join online, while those based in Scotland’s Central Belt are also welcome to attend in person.

Part 1: Inspiration (19:00–19:30)

  • Years 1 and 2 together

  • The evening begins with worship, prayer and leadership input for all students together. This first part is designed to stir apostolic vision, strengthen pioneering faith and help students see how the week’s learning can be applied in their own context as they grow churches and make disciples.

Part 2: Application (19:30–20:00)

  • Year-specific learning groups of 5–8 people

  • Students then move into smaller learning groups with others from their own year. These groups remain together throughout the term and give students space to engage more deeply with the week’s content, discuss how it applies in their lives and ministry, encourage one another and pray together.

The year

Each academic year consists of three 10-week terms

  • Term 1: Mid-September – Late November

  • Term 2: Mid-January – Late March

  • Term 3: Mid-April – Late June
